Other significant activities of FINER were the 8 member delegation visit to Hong Kong where they were invited to participate in the World SME Expo 2006,organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). It was observed by the FINER delegets that agriculture and horiculture products had a great potential in the international markets. Local products of NE such as pineapple,bamboo,jackfruit,ginger,honey,tea etc could have a good scope in the international market. During the 2 days exhibition, they had more than 200 visitors at the FINER stall from across the world, which led to a very proper dissemination of information about the North East and the opportunities North East had to offer to the world.

One more information i would like to share with you that FINER had successfully attended all the meetings of Subgroups of the Working Group on Micro, Small Scale, medium & services enterprises Act and Agri & Rural Industries for the Eleventh Five Year Plan (2007-2012).

We also had a meeting with visiting members from World Bank. The meeting was held to discuss the various problems relating to market linkages, access to finance and cluster development for implementing various livelihood projects in North East.

You would appreciate that our efforts are on to get an attractive package of incentives under North Eastern Industrial Policy so that more & more investment could come to NER from private investors.
